Tomates crevettes is a very popular aperitif in Belgium, but it can also go as a great main course too. Inside the fresh tomatoes are made scoops. The shrimp are mixed with mayonnaise, some lemon juice, some tomato juice, parsley, salt and pepper. Sometimes to this mixture are added boiled eggs. The mixture with shrimps is filled within the tomatoes. On top of the Tomates crevettes are placed the lids of the tomatoes that were replaced earlier. Tomates crevettes are served cold and sometimes they come with French fries alongside.
