Torre Ercolana is a quite hard to find Italian dry red wine. It is popular in Rome and Lazio region. The wine is made from a blend of the local Cesanese di Affile and the international varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which give it a full ripe, slightly stewed and richly fruity character. Torre Ercolana was created by Luigi Colacicchi, one of Italy’s most famous composers of XX century. Since it is not produced in vast quantities, the wine is not easy to get. It typically contains 13% alcohol by volume.
