Zaeti are popular, traditional Venice biscuits. "Zaeti" from Venetian dialect means "small yellow cookies". The name comes from the basic ingredient - yellow corn flour. Another typical ingredients are plain flour, eggs, sugar, butter, yeast, raisins, and grappa/rum. All ingredients are mixed into small ovals of about five centimeters and baked for about 20 minutes until they get light golden color. Easy to prepare and tasty!
It is believed the recipe was born in poor farmer families and cheap ingredients are used.
