Baked Apples is a dish that is popular in many countries. In Finland, Baked Apples are a traditional dish served especially during late summer. In Finland they prefer to use Finish apples for the dish and in this case the apples are not peeled. The core of the apple is removed and the inside is filled with a mixture of white and brown sugar, or sometimes with white sugar, treacle and cinnamon. Sometimes rolled oats or some other fruits puree can be added to the filling. A piece of butter is placed on top of the apples, then they are baked till they get soft. Baked Apples are always served hot with some vanilla sauce or vanilla ice cream, or some chilled custard.
